Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics coach who later became her coach later in life, discovered her at age six. She first competed in the national junior championships in 1969, finishing 13th. She was the winner in 1970. In 1972, in the communist nations' meet for juniors before the Olympics, she took home 3 gold and silver medals. After that, in 1973 and 1974 she won the overall junior champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver in her first international competition for seniors which took place in the year 1975. It was the first time she competed as a senior. She was the first female to ever successfully complete the backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career in the entertainment industry in her teens, when she performed as an ice skating duo along with her twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the entertainment industry in her teens. She began her professional career by performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment shows Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performance.
